Michelle Loosli


Bio

Michelle Loosli serves as the Director of Affiliate Affairs at the American Public Health Association, bringing a wealth of experience in climate education, public health and social equity. Most recently, she was Senior Manager for climate education at APHA’s Center for Climate, Health, and Equity, where she advanced climate and health advocacy across education levels engaging students from early childhood through higher education. Previously, Michelle led the Office of Minority Health Resource Center within the US Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, she implemented initiatives to expand research funding for minority-serving institutions, spearheaded innovative social media campaigns, and promoted social justice programs across federal agencies. Michelle's extensive career spans roles with the Department of Labor, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, USAID and HHS, consistently underscoring her commitment to diversity inclusion and equity. Michelle holds a master's degree in Malnutrition and Hunger Policy from Tufts University and a bachelor's degree in anthropology and Spanish from Brigham Young University. An avid traveler she has explored over 50 countries enriching her global perspective.
